Notes about the reconstruction of the Chain drive differential of the Model F -
- We did not have all the original parts of the compensating gear arrangement so
Tim Morsher came up with the idea of using the basics from a Model T
differential. His idea was to incorporate the axel pinion gears and 3 spider
gears mounted inside the gear case from a Model T. At first look it appeared
that there might be enough room to mount the assembly but how would one connect
the Model T Gear case to the compensating gear case?? The pictures below are
presented to help describe what was done.
